Hi, I’m Kate, founder of Swanvale Studio.

I’ve always had a love for fabric, sewing, and interior design. Some of my earliest memories are of hand-sewing hexagon quilts with my nana—moments that sparked a lifelong passion for textiles.

As a child, I was constantly rearranging my bedroom, and that creative curiosity led me to study interior design at home in Devon. I later moved to Bristol to complete a degree in Fashion and Textiles.

Shortly after graduating, I began my sewing career in the Caribbean, creating bespoke interior and exterior soft furnishings for private islands, resorts, and boats in the British Virgin Islands—including projects for Necker and Peter Island.

Now with nearly 20 years of industry experience and a diploma in curtain making, I’m back by the sea, handcrafting beautiful, bespoke pieces for local company Poppy & Honesty. I work closely with expert upholsterers and create handmade curtains and blinds that clients can cherish for years to come.

I truly love what I do and feel privileged to help bring warmth and personality into people’s homes through thoughtful, tailor-made design
